Writing your own help
Hide or replace the Foundation’s articles, write articles of your own, and see when a release revises one.
Help for your people is where you shape the help your Operator’s readers see. Choose Help in the console menu. Only an Operator admin working at the Operator’s root can change it.
What you can do
- Hide a Foundation article. Your readers no longer see it, and it is not found in search. Show again brings it back.
- Replace with your own starts a draft from the Foundation’s text. Your article takes its place once you publish it. Withdraw gives the Foundation’s article back.
- Write a new article. Choose its address first, then write the text.
Writing an article
Write a title, a summary and the text in every language your Operator offers. Choose the guide, whom it is for and the screens it helps with. Choose Save the draft, check it with Preview the draft, then Publish. Readers see only what you have published. Publishing is refused while a language you offer lacks a title, a summary or a text.
When the Foundation changes an article
If the Foundation revises an article you hid or replaced, it stays as you left it. It is flagged Revised until you have read the new version and chosen Mark as seen.
